This is the first leg of the climb, the trek from Pont to the refuge. It’s a beautiful day, sunny and warm. We trek from 1900 to 2700 in just around 2 hours. We grab lunch at the refuge and have to wait until 3pm to get the bed allocation. It’s a container with 3 bunk beds of 3, well done. So far there are only 2 other climbers a couple.
Here is the plan: dinner at 7pm, sleep, wake up at 345am, breakfast at 4am and prob off to the mountain at 5am. We anticipate a 4-5 hours climb to reach the summit. The snow line should be around 3000m where we will crampon and rope in.
