About me

Adventure trips have been an important part of my life for the past 15 years. My first long adventure trip was riding a superbike around the USA. My friend Dan and I liked to say that we went from Brooklyn, where he lived, to Manhattan, where I lived, in 30 days, riding 15,000 km. I embarked into trekking in Patagonia with Thierry in 2008, admiring the beauty of one of the world’s most beautiful treks the Torres del Paine full circuit. In 2010, I went back to adventure motorcycling and travelled to inner Mongolia with Thierry Coulon. In 2011 & 2012 David and I crossed a section of the Tibetan plateau in Yunnan, Sichuan, Qinghai & Gansu up 5000m mountain passes on KTM adventure bikes.

The appeal of the mountains became stronger after trekking in Nepal in 2011, it seemed that climbing could help me connect with life & nature. In 2013, I attempted Chulu West, a 6300m peak in Nepal. In 2014 Lars, Xavier and I summited Mont-Blanc. The 3 of us have since become close climbing partners & friends. In 2015, Xavier, Patrick, Glenn and I attempted our first 7000, Himlung Himal. It was tough but with friendship & perseverance we pushed to the last high camp. The whole trip was a pilgrimage to mother earth.

After a 10-day glacier & crevasse rescue training in Denali National Park in 2016, Xavier, Patrick and I started planning a new trip to Alaska to attempt the climb of Denali in 2017. Expedition done. Xavier and I just completed another Denali expedition in May 2019. We are now contemplating new challenges for 2020 & 21.

Through this blog, I wish to share some of these unique experiences and inspire people to connect with nature and life to its fullest.
