Day 22: Flattop mountain hike, Ford F-150 and goodbyes
For our last day, Pat has arranged a rental car so we can travel around Anchorage. We rent the most outrageous pickup truck the 2017 Ford F150, it is simply awesome!
Pat has spotted the best hike around Anchorage, flat top mountain a 20. Knitted drive from downtown. We are all getting ready, get out to pick up the car, pick up a coffee a snow city cafe, and a muffin and get going. It’s been 2 days since we were on the mountain and we are impatient to be back in touch with nature.
It’s a beautiful hike up Flattop mountain with a tricky snowy and icy last part. 1000 meters high, we summit without too many difficulties ;).
Below: seriously crazy rock climbing or simply having fun with camera angles?
Below: Down the mountain we pose and shoot ‘commercial grade’ pictures with our outrageous American pickup truck and have a great laugh.
Packing and napping. The new beardless Pat walks in our room, unrecognizable.
Goodbyes are emotional with Xav who will fly only at 5am that night. We all really enjoyed each other’s company and learnt a lot on our abilities to deal with problems on the mountain.

What a great way to end the adventure. Love the pick up truck… With you action men driving it, it will be a hot vehicle. :-)))
