A month has past, the ridge is still there closing soon for another year
A very nice picture taken by Kai Girard on our final descent after attempting a summit push on the same morning. We were embarking on a 5-6 hours down-climbing day. About 1-hour in Kai stopped briefly on the ridge and took a shot of us down-climbing. I was leading our rope for this part of the way down, methodically clipping into the running protections that could be found on the steep sections of the ridge, mostly snow-pickets with slings to which I would clip our team rope into. We had to navigate climbers going up, letting them go by, always an added challenge with the limited width of the 16,000 ft ridge.
This picture is simply a celebration of the beauty of the mountain, the friendship of climbers, the trust we put into each other and the simple pleasures of life on our planet.
