Day 2: Anchorage to Talkeetna, getting closer to Denali

After a hearty breakfast at the Snow City Cafe in Anchorage, we walk back to the hotel. I wrap up some work stuff while Patrick is packing and Xavier making final gear purchases at the local Walmart.

At 1pm sharp, Tom is in front of the hotel with his GM van. We load our 6 North-Face and Patagonia duffle bags and hit the road to Talkeetna.

We arrive around 4pm, check in at the Roadhouse, take a 1 hour nap and go out for a trail run in the woods and along the Talkeetna river. We asked Tom about bears in the area so whenever we hear a noise we create shapes of bears from dark tree trunks and foliage. Pat stops at 6K, Xav and I run a while longer following the Garmin GPS and enjoy a longer 13K run.

Big dinner at the local brewery and off to bed. Its 1020pm and still very bright outside.

Its time for bed.
